Steve Wozniak: The Co-Founder of Apple Who Revolutionized Personal Computing

Have you ever wondered who revolutionized the personal computer world? You most likely have and if so, the answer is Steve Wozniak. Steve Wozniak, born in 1950 in San Jose, California, is famously known as the co-founder of Apple Computer, or Apple Inc. as it is known today. Along with his partner Steve Jobs, the two of them together successfully developed the first Apple computers in 1976, intended to be user-friendly and enjoyable for the everyday consumer. In doing so, Steve Wozniak changed the technological industry forever.

This genius might have been greatly known for his genius mind and great technical skills but he also was very creative. He designed the computer circuit boards for their company and created the software design that enabled these machines to operate. It might not be easy to imagine what computers used to be like back when Wozniak created his machines. For one thing, its hardware was limited. It is amazing to realize how much has changed in the technology industry since then and how much of that is because of Steve Wozniak.https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/thumb.php?f=Blue Box in museum.jpg&w=1000 from wikimedia

Wozniak's impact on the technology industry is huge. He is responsible for developing many of the features and components that are still included in personal computers today. He helped pave the way for other technologically-advanced companies, such as Microsoft and Amazon, to enter the market. Another example of his influence is the creation of the mouse and the graphical user interface (GUI), which were first seen in the Apple Lisa computer.https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/thumb.php?f=Kathy and Woz (2400485190) (cropped2).jpg&w=1000 from wikimedia

In many ways, the computer industry has not just been influenced by the genius of Wozniak; it has also been shaped by his kind and generous nature. For example, in 1985 after a plane crash, Wozniak purchased a chunk of Apple stock in order to finance the experimental electric plane of his friend and partner, Steve Jobs. At the time, it was a very risky move, but one that Jobs saw as a good investment and one that paid off well in the end.

Throughout the years, Steve Wozniak continued to be an integral part of the Apple empire. From the Apple products of his design to his teaching and various public speaking engagements, Wozniak was and still is a true inspiration.

If Steve Wozniak had never taken his invention of the Apple computers to the world, the world would be a much different place. The personal computer revolution that he started has allowed for countless technological advances in areas ranging from education to medicine to entertainment. Steve Wozniak's work has allowed for the world to move further and faster into the future, and he will forever be remembered as one of the greatest computer scientists of all time.
